After my fun day yesterday I am so motivated to save money! If you don’t know what I am talking about check yesterday’s post. Now is the time….I am going to build that savings and get cash in to my 72 hour kits! A few weeks ago I heard the price of stamps is going up again! Seems like we can now count on that every year. Food costs have really gone up and the price of propane is through the roof....

Remember I told you to shop seasonal sales? Today I went to Longs and they had all their Valentine "stuff" on sale for 90% off !!!!!!! That's right…90%. I came home with a really cute wire basket, in red of course, 50 goodie bags, 1 gift bag with tissue, 64 lollipops, 64 valentine cards (you know the ones kids pass out at school) and 64 Valentine stickers all for……drum...

1. Purchase plastic sleeves for your binder.
2. Place a flashlight, batteries and glow sticks in your 72 hour kits. If you do not have backpacks for your kits purchase at least one this week.
3. As we did for electricity, make a list of every thing you do that uses water. Create a chart of what you will need to replace. Refer to the water article...
I have just finished watching the news and all the winter storm warning for tonight on the east coast, Ice storms, and for the next few days on the west coast, cold windy, rainy and snowy weather. Water, water everywhere. This week save money while getting healthier and drink water. We spend so much money unnecessarily on things we can so easily live without. Just can’t get through the morning without that caffeine jolt? Then you need to kick that habit. I am amazed how many high school students arrive each morning with that latte in hand.
