I'm not really sure you should go as far as to say that you need to stay inside for two weeks.. once the two weeks are up, you'll leave your house and swine flu will still be there. But I think perhaps purchasing some sort of flu mask - particularly the N95 respirator, which has an incredibly high rate of protection - as well as frequently washing your hands could be useful.

This flu is caused by a virus. The N95 has the capability of keeping out viruses which I understand are pretty small. This link from lds.org explains a lot of helpful information about these protective supplies.

From what I understand the N95 means that it filters out 95% of bacteria, allergens, etc. Is that accurate? I think most medical masks are N95?

Thank you for answering my questions. It really does help... I am glad you explained the "seed" virus - that helped me feel better about what they are doing.

You are great and I'm glad we can come together and help each other out.

Too bad about your power. Wow!!

I was really sad when Mexico City had an Earth quake on Monday too.. We really need to be prepared for all kinds of emergencies that can happen. Being in Mexico City and quarantined... then an earth quake happens and you are out in the open again. Scary stuff.. At least it wasn't too bad. Originally reported at 6.0 and later down graded to 5.6.

I'm confused about masks. Must the face masks be called N95 or are the disposable ear loop masks that filter bacteria just as good to use?
