Here's an idea from Household Magic tips to stretch your dish detergent.  Maybe that will save enough to not have to make your own.  Just a thought.

In a plastic squeeze bottle, combine one part liquid dishdetergent with one part distilled white vinegar and three parts water. Shake it a few times before using. The detergent cuts the grease, the white vinegar disinfects and helps clean, and the water acts as detergent-extender…making it last longer.

Carolyn, I'm loving the new series of posts on your blog about saving money.  I know all the  things you will be  sharing will be very helpful to me as I am not working right now so  money is tight.  I am a teacher, but for the last several years I have been  caring for my bedridden elderly mom. I'm trying to make strides toward preparedness, but it's really been slow-going so far.   Yours was the first blog I consistently read and PRN radio show I listened to when I first felt lead to start preparing for hard times to come.  I just want to thank you for all that you share and to let your know that what you are doing is making a difference! Your recent posts have inspired me to make a renewed effort to prepare our little home in every way possible for any problems that may lie ahead.  God bless!

Thank you! I know it is really difficult to be a care giver. I cared for my nana. Sending positive thoughts your way. Please let me know if there is a specific area you need help with.
