Food Storage…Yikes! I forgot Fido…
What was I thinking? I really went brain dead on this one. We can't forget the other members of the family, our pets. We need to plan for their needs also. Dog food is a great candidate for dating an items and then recording how long it lasted. If you use canned food calculating how much you need to store will be easy but dried food is a little more challenging. Remember to include in your storage, vitamins and treats for your pets. Of course, the most important thing to remember is water. Larger dogs will need as much as you do, two gallons a day. Smaller pets obviously less. Larger pets such as horses will need much more and you should plan now just how you will supply water if an emergency cuts off you normal supply.
