Gustav is Coming!
The first major hurricane of the season is churning it’s way into the Gulf of Mexico and is expected to arrive as a category 3 or 4 within the next few days? Are you ready? We can not expect our government to solve all our problems and large natural disasters are definitely one of those occasions when we need to take personal responsibility for our family. If you live in any of the gulf states now is the time to practice those evacuation skills we have talked about in our Seven Steps. It is time to purchase food and water and to stock up on prescription and over the counter drugs. It is time to make sure you have made arrangements for your pets. It is time to gas up the car. It is time to make arrangements with your out of state contact and let them know when you will be arriving. It is time to get some cash out of the bank. It is time to map out more than one evacuation route. It is time to clear all movable items out of the backyard. Yes, it is time. Do not wait.

Part of the problem with evacuation during past disasters has been the lack of information. Together we can provide that information and save personal property and maybe even lives.
