I feel like a treat shopping champion today. As I left the grocery today, I noticed one of those marked down carts that had candybars in it. They were king sized bars marked down to 25cents! Needless to stay, I have a stash in my freezer that should last most of the year! Birthdays, rewards for the kids, divide into treats for lunches, etc. Wonderful fun.

I just found your blog today! One quick comment about schools requiring kids to bring in only store-bought items: it's most likely due to the prevalence of allergies these days and the teachers need to know the ingredients of foods being served to the students. My son has a severe peanut allergy and wouldn't be able to eat anything homemade. But even so, it is sad that there's a school policy to accommodate just 1-3% of the student population. My son does not have free reign with food; that's life and by the time he reaches school age, I hope to have taught him what he needs to do to keep HIMSELF safe. Thanks for your blog!
