As I left the grocery today, I noticed one of those marked down carts that had candybars in it. They were king sized bars marked down to 25cents! Needless to stay, I have a stash in my freezer that should last most of the year! Birthdays, rewards for the kids, divide into treats for lunches, etc. Wonderful fun. One quick comment about schools requiring kids to bring in only store-bought items: it's most likely due to the prevalence of allergies these days and the teachers need to know the ingredients of foods being served to the students. My son has a severe peanut allergy and wouldn't be able to eat anything homemade. But even so, it is sad that there's a school policy to accommodate just 1-3% of the student population. My son does not have free reign with food; that's life and by the time he reaches school age, I hope to have taught him what he needs to do to keep HIMSELF safe. Thanks for your blog!
