You show a mercury filled thermometer. I’ve replaced mine with digital so to avoid possible breakage and leaking mercury. What do you recommend?
Like your idea of counting TP wrappers – I buy TP in a multi-pack of 12. I dated the outside wrapper, checked after 1 month and multiplied by that.
Also, I had received/collected several sample/travel sizes of shampoo & conditioner. I kept note of how many uses I got from each. Now I keep those (with a couple of snack size zip-lock bags) in my kits because they are smaller and easier to pack. Plan to do the same with toothpaste and deodorant.
This works well for us as there are only 2.
Great ideas! Thanks for the suggestions. I have one mercury thermometer and the rest are digital, because of the breakage issue . When I researched I discovered the digital were rated as more accurate than the strip type. Now there are new ones that you swipe over the forehead but I haven’t seen any research about accuracy, although I see some doctors are using them. I do question that as offices normally get free samples of those things and I know a doctor does not have time to compare accuracy. If anyone has seen research please let me know.
