Taking Inventory
I'm not the only one selling the importance of a home inventory. Check out this blogger's experience from IowaHippieChick:
"…We lost our furnace, water heater, household electrical fuse box, and various personal items stored down there [basement]. I also forgot to mention that our garage was not as fortunate as our house – it actually filled with 2 feet of flood water. It was all a big – wet – smelly – mess. When the water started to recede – which actually took longer than you would think, it was time to figure out how to deal with this mess. Of course we hadn't taken a home inventory…
Which is something everybody should seriously contemplate doing. I hate to say it, but you just never know anymore. Tornadoes, floods, hurricanes, any sort of natural disaster – it can happen to any of us. Having an inventory of household possessions can make filing for a loss or damage claim much simpler. You want to list all household possessions…"
