I received this comments and again it was one I thought I should share. Does anyone know of a program like this in the good old USA? This sounds like a great way to get your food storage. The real key, of course, is to pay off your credit card every month. I have said no to every credit card offer I get because I don’t want my credit score affected. I do use my card at Costco and every year I get a gift check from them for a % of what I have spent. That was nice until I stopped going to Costco because the gas cost too much and that made the groceries more than I can get them for much closer to home. If I lived in Canada I would take a look at this.
Do any of you have experience with a system like this one?
We have a financial institute here in Canada where there is no charge for using the debit card or cheques. It is affiliated with a grocery store and if you use their debt card on their bank they pay you in points which you can buy groceries with. Their mastercard is the same deal I charge everything on it to get points esp big items. I even put the down payment on my car on it, but I ALWAYS pay it off every month. So far this year I have $400.00 in free groceries.
Thank you for sharing Debbie.

You could probably choose to do that with certain money-back cards like AmEx Blue Cash and just designate that the cash back will go toward groceries: http://www.moneybluebook.com/the-best-grocery-credit-cards-to-save-money-at-the-supermarket/
I know Kroger has a mastercard that gives you points for anything you purchase and double points if you purchase groceries in their store and triple points if you purchase the Kroger brand. I get quarterly checks from them.
I love Krogers, unfortunately we don’t have one near us. Good to know.
